Athena chooses a few of her daughters or sons at a time to find the statue but they always went missing. The only people who are allowed to find the Athena Parthenos are children of Athena. The four separate worlds must work together to save the world from Gaea destroying it. The purpose of going to Rome is to save the Athena Parthenos which will aid the seven in uniting the Roman and Greek gods and demigods. The demigods embark on a journey that starts in the western United States and ends in Rome. In The Mark of Athena, the seven children of the prophecy, both Greek and Roman, must unite to stop Gaea from not only destroying Olympus, but also the world. Each child has specific abilities depending on their godly parent. Percy also can breathe under water along with controlling it. Poseidon, the Greek god of the seas, is Percy’s father therefore, Percy has black hair and blue eyes - traits he shares with his father. The godly parent does contribute some traits that goes towards the child’s physical features however, there is much more unseen, such as special talents and powers. Any god or goddess has the ability to create offspring with a human. The series is about children who are half mortal and half god: a demigod. To understand the concepts of The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune and The Mark of Athena (the books in The Heroes of Olympus series) it is almost imperative to read the Percy Jackson books. Percy and all the demigods are dyslexic and have a form of ADHD, making the story some-what realistic and relatable - a fictional world to escape to. Rick was an english teacher who started Percy as a bedtime story for his dyslexic child. It takes place about six months after the final Titan War in The Last Olympian, book five of Percy Jackson. The Heroes of a Olympus is a continuation of Percy Jackson & the Olympians series. It seems a good book, but I wouldn't say that for small kids, specially because Percy and Annabeth are a little rebel, like (careful, this kind of spoils a little) When they both go at midnight to the stables and start talking and kiss a couple of times. The Mark of Athena is the third installment in the Heroes of Olympus series written by Rick Riordan. And finally, it includes love, the most heart-touching of all, (if you're fan of Percabeth, Jasper, or Frazel, you'll love it) It includes tragedy and rivality (sort of, that's what it's meant to be, Romans vs Greeks, but if you analyze the book cover, you'll see Tempest and Blackjack, (In case you don't know, they're Jason's and Percy's horses and pegasus) And on top of them are Percy and Jason fighting each other, that gives you a lost of suspense and it's another proof of the great things this book have. It includes war, (again, war teaches you history, like some real stories that you'd probably didn't know. So many readers would love this book, for all its qualities, it includes some history, so you'll learn while reading. It gets you heart touched whenever this couples talk to each other (seriously, is super cute) And every time they do something for each other, (especially Percy and Annabeth) I gotta say, this book gets your attention easily, it has a great hook, and you enjoy it a lot with all the mystery that it gives and all the Percy and Annabeth stuff, (you know, getting reunited and dating each other.) The fact that Jason and Piper are also together gets more the attention, and all the couples that appear in the book. You learn a lot just having fun reading this book, that's also awesome. This is an amazing book, many people should know this by first hand.
